Auburn – Matthew Hepner, East Wenatchee City Council Member, Executive Director for the Certified Electrical Workers of Washington and Veteran Marine, has endorsed Dr. Shannon Hader in the race for Washington’s 8th Congressional District seat.
“After much consideration, research, and debate, I have decided to endorse Shannon Hader for Congress in the 8th CD,” said Hepner. “Not only for her extensive biography – which is remarkable – but also for her strength of character. Shannon’s tenacity is invigorating. As a former Marine, I appreciate that beyond measure. As a city councilman, our discussions revolving around economic development and her ingenuity in finding ways to support our efforts locally have given me hope and that we can bring real family wage jobs to Central Washington. She is ready and willing to invest in infrastructure, create a friendly business climate, and continue to tirelessly work for us to export and expand all that Central Washington has to offer.”
“I’m extremely appreciative of Matthew’s support and decision to endorse me,” said Dr. Hader. We’ve been able to talk about tough issues – from economic development and new areas for expert skilled workers, to win-win labor and environmental investments in new projects, to veterans’ suicide – and innovative, purposeful ways to address them. I’m proud to say I will provide leadership and advocacy to bring solutions and investments to the 8th, and look forward to working with Matthew and other local leaders to do so.”
